Rosies Horses was first established in 1990, with the wedding gift from her father John Fyfe to Rosie of Mel Star- the only mare left owned by the family by the horse that lead to Rosie’s love of Quarter Horses, Pinelands Hotspur. Mel Star was first bred to Mr Bar Charge producing a chestnut filly Rosies Barbarena. On foal heat she was bred to Dahmac Stoney’s Pride, producing the matron of Rosies Horses- Rosies Trouble Pride.
Trouble and full brother Rosies Proud Cat helped Rosie make a splash into the Quarter Horse showing world when they attended their first nationals in 1994. Rosies Proud Cat was sashed Champion Amateur Colt 1yr & under and Reserve Grand Amateur Stallion. Rosies Trouble Pride took out the prestigious yearling halter futurity and Champion yearling filly. Proud Cat was sold shortly after that nationals but although they have had many substantial offers for Trouble she will live out her life owned by Rosies Horses.
Trouble is currently still starting off up and coming stars within the western arena as Rosie generously loans this grand mare to lucky individuals, Trouble is a very unique lady, she is only happy when she is being pampered and ridden, no retirement and broodmare paddock for this girl. She is kept in the manner to which she became accustomed and shown lightly where she gets heaps of pats and spoilt and she produces lovely foals.
In 1997 it was decided that a resident sire was needed even though they were producing well using local stallion Dahmac Stoney’s Pride. Looking for something to complement Trouble who is a grand mare but lacks a little in height she is but 14.3hh. Rosie came across a leggy bay colt being shown by Chris & Heather Bailey. This stunning colt is their champion sire Tomcatin Around. Tom has taken out multi national championships both at halter and under saddle, helping to take Rosie to high point trainer at Q4.
As well as gaining a resident sire Rosies Horses had been collecting a good band of mares.
The next major change has come about in 2008 with the opportunity (through necessity) to purchase A Passing Breeze (IMP USA). With the decision to keep several Tomcatin Around daughters an out cross stallion was required. It is believed that these two boys will compliment each other and help Rosies Horses go from strength to strength.
Rosie offers riding lessons, showing lessons, training and show preparation.
